Managing Process Safety Compliance

For more than 25 years, we have helped companies worldwide develop and refine their OHSA PSM and EPA RMP programs, as well as their corresponding audit protocol to periodically verify compliance with such programs. Our reputation as a leader in this field is confirmed by our role supporting the US Chemical Safety Board on issues of national significance. In addition, our personnel are familiar with issues targeted by OSHA regulators in National Emphasis Programs for both refineries and chemical facilities.

BSEE SEMS Compliance Management

Offshore owners, operators and contractors working on the US Outer Continental Shelf are required to comply with the 30 CFR 250 regulation to implement a Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS). This rule transitions 13 formerly voluntary practices covered in American Petroleum Institute (API) Recommended Practice 75 (RP 75) to mandatory requirements. Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ· offers customized services to help you implement SEMS and integrate its compliance with classification, the Institute for Supply Management certificate process and the offshore capital project management process.

PHMSA Compliance Management

The US Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) regulates the transportation of oil and other petrochemicals via pipeline and other means. PHMSA has a set of statutory mandatory failure reporting requirements for their regulated industry. For PHMSA, there are two primary sets of reporting requirements: pipelines and hazardous materials. Our compliance experts can help you understand how to comply with the PHMSA pipeline and hazardous materials safety requirements.

COMAH/Seveso III Directive Compliance Management

Across the world, governments are taking a more active role in requiring companies to have in place a safety management system that addresses major accident hazards. The Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) requirements in the UK and the Seveso III Directive in the EU are examples of such regulations. These regulations require companies handling highly hazardous materials to identify the hazards that exist, the measures in place to control these hazards, the programs in place to maintain the integrity and assure the reliability of equipment and protective features, and to demonstrate that the risks of a major accident are being controlled to a reasonable level. Our process safety team can assist you with developing or upgrading your safety management, or, through independent audits, help you identify gaps or inefficiencies with your safety management systems.
